Singas Famous Pizza has been feeding neighborhoods since 1967 — born in Elmhurst, Queens, built on handmade recipes, and still run on the same principles that made the first slice famous.
Where it started: Elmhurst, 1967
Bill and Mrs. Singas opened the first Singas Famous Pizza in Elmhurst, New York. That same year, Gregory Tsanis — a Greek cook with 14 years of experience — walked through the door and found a kitchen that matched his standards.
Greg and Chris take the reins
In 1977, Greg and his brother Chris purchased the business and expanded across the tristate area. The signature sauce and dough recipes stayed exactly as they were — because some things are too good to change.
Three principles, every single day
Quality and consistency, cleanliness, and customer service — these aren't talking points, they're how every Singas runs. Every item is made to order with personal attention, visit one or five hundred.
From one pizzeria to 30+ locations
By 2004, demand for that original crispy crust had grown well beyond Queens. Greg began franchising, bringing Singas to communities across 10 states. The address changes, but the recipe never does.
